Helen Stratigakos Inspires Future Legal Professionals at University of Tampa Women in Law Event

On October 26, 2026, Tampa attorney Helen Stratigakos, founder of Stratigakos Law, returned to the University of Tampa as a guest speaker for the university’s Women in Law organization. Joining her was her daughter, Daniela, a law student gaining professional experience through an internship at the State Attorney’s Office.

The event brought together undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in law, providing an opportunity to hear perspectives from an experienced practicing attorney and an emerging legal professional.

Encouraging the Next Generation of Women in Law

The University of Tampa’s Women in Law organization provides students with opportunities to explore the legal profession, connect with legal professionals, and learn more about the educational and career paths available to aspiring attorneys.

Helen was invited to return as a guest speaker after previously participating in an event with the organization. With the club welcoming new members and continuing to grow, the opportunity offered another chance to connect with students considering careers in the legal field.

For Helen, participating in events like these reflects a personal commitment to encouraging young women who aspire to enter the legal profession.

“I love coming to speak and encouraging young women!” Helen shared following the event.

Sharing Perspectives Across Two Generations of Legal Experience

One particularly meaningful aspect of the event was the opportunity for Helen to participate alongside her daughter, Daniela.

As an established Tampa attorney, Helen brought the perspective of someone with firsthand experience practicing law, representing clients, and navigating the responsibilities of the legal profession. Daniela offered a complementary perspective as a current law student and first-year intern at the State Attorney’s Office.

Together, their participation gave students access to perspectives from different stages of a legal career, from legal education and early professional experience to established legal practice.

Helping Students Explore Their Future in the Legal Profession

The Women in Law organization encouraged discussion around several topics important to students considering law school and future legal careers, including:

  • Educational backgrounds and the inspiration behind pursuing a legal career.
  • Preparing for the LSAT and navigating law school admissions.
  • Experiences and challenges encountered during law school.
  • Transitioning from legal education into professional practice.
  • Developing practical experience through internships and other opportunities.
  • Preparing for the responsibilities and expectations of a career in law.

Opportunities to engage with practicing attorneys and current law students can help aspiring legal professionals better understand the steps involved in pursuing their goals. They also provide an important connection between classroom learning and the realities of working in the legal field.

Supporting the Tampa Bay Community Beyond the Courtroom

Community engagement and professional mentorship are meaningful ways for attorneys to contribute beyond their day-to-day legal work. By participating in educational events, legal professionals can share their experiences, encourage future colleagues, and help students make more informed decisions about their careers.

As the founder of Stratigakos Law, a Tampa-based law firm representing clients in personal injury and medical malpractice matters, Helen understands the importance of preparation, dedication, and advocacy within the legal profession.

Her continued involvement with the University of Tampa’s Women in Law organization reflects the value of sharing professional experience with those who may one day become attorneys themselves.

Thank You to the University of Tampa Women in Law Organization

Stratigakos Law extends its appreciation to the University of Tampa’s Women in Law organization for inviting Helen and Daniela to participate in this year’s event.

We appreciate the students and organizers who made the gathering possible and look forward to continued opportunities to encourage and support the next generation of women entering the legal profession.
